The daily routine for a boarder provides a balance between studies, recreation and relaxation. As the program below outlines, the days are busy but productive and allow the boarders to incorporate interest areas within their daily routine.
Typical week-day program
7:15am Woken, shower and dress
8:00am Breakfast in the dining room
8:45am Dismissed from the boarding house
8:45am - 3:25pm Normal school program, morning tea and lunch in the dining room
3:25pm - 4:00pm Afternoon tea
4:00pm - 5:30pm Recreation, activities, relaxation
5:30pm - 6:15pm 1st Study period. (Years 7 - 12)
6:15pm - 7:00pm Dinner in dining room
7:00pm - 8:00pm 2nd Study period. (Years 7 - 12)
8:05pm - 9:00pm 3rd Study period. (Years 11 -12) Juniors: supper and free time
9:00pm Seniors: supper and free time.
9:30pm Years 7 & 8 to bed
10:00pm Years 9 & 10 to bed
10:30pm Year 11 to bed
10:45pm Year 12 to bed or continue study program
Whilst the program is structured to provide a focus on academic achievement balanced with appropriate recreation time, it is also flexible allowing time for students to participate in the range of activities that is offered in Hamilton. These include football training, basketball, netball, dance, music and a range of other activities.
