Technology Studies

Technology education ultimately provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary for designing quality products that effectively either solve a problem or meet a need.  Technology includes a range of material mediums including wood, metal, textiles and food technologies.

Year 7 (EXCEL)

All students study a Material Technology (Wood and Metal) for one semester, and Textiles and Home Economics for the other semester.  This provides experience in all areas so that students are able to choose the areas in which they wish to continue in the Middle School.

Year 8 (LINCS)

All students study a Material Technology (Wood and Metal) for one semester, and Textiles and Home Economics for the other semester. This provides experience in all areas so that students are able to choose the areas in which they wish to continue in the Middle School.

Year 9 & 10

Students in Years 9 & 10 have the opportunity to study a technology which includes a range of material mediums including wood, metal and textiles as well as information and food technologies.

Year 11 & 12 (VCE)

Students can study the following Technology subjects:

  • Units 1-4 Design and Technology (Wood or Textiles)
  • Units 1-4 Food and Technology

VET

  • Automotive
  • Engineering
  • Hospitality
