LINCS (Leadership, Independence, Community, Skills)
The LINCS Program provides a link between the protected physical and social environment of EXCEL and the more independent life of Years 9 and 10 (Middle School) at Monivae College. It allows the student to move naturally from the comparative shelter of EXCEL towards a more autonomous learning environment. It fosters leadership through a range of activities both in and out of the classroom. It fosters a sense of community within the school, but also extending out into the local community. The curriculum has been planned to allow students to make connections between the content of the different Key Learning Areas, and to realise that knowledge and skills are transferable and cumulative.
