Monivae Athletics Carnival 2011

The annual Monivae Athletics Carnival was held on Friday 11th March at Pedrina Park, Hamilton. With the 1500m and High Jump events already being completed at lunch times leading up to the event, students went out in full force to try and help their House bring home the Grand Aggregate. The weather put on a wonderful display, assisting all competitors to perform to the best of their abilities at both track and field events. I wish to congratulate all students for the high level of participation and enthusiasm displayed throughout the day. We had a remarkable number of records broken on the day as shown below:

A huge thank you must go to all of the staff who helped out on the day, parents (Fran McMeel, Annie Neeson and Jenny Huf), the Parents and Friends Committee and the SRC who had a BBQ lunch readily available throughout the day. Without the support and enthusiasm of these helpers, the athletics sports would not be able to run so smoothly.


GSSSA Athletics Carnival 2011

On Friday 18th March 2011, two bus-loads of enthusiastic Monivae students travelled to the GSSSA Athletics Carnival at Island Park in Casterton. Monivae performed well on both the field and track all day, being consistently present amongst the top three place-getters in the track events. The 4x100 metre relays were the final, and most exciting events for the day, with the Monivae squad showing true determination and placing well in all.
Monivae had a number of outstanding performances on the day, and a big congratulations goes to the following students who set new records:

Monivae can be very proud of the way the students conducted themselves throughout the day, with brilliant sportsmanship and passion being displayed.
