Lia completed her Masters of Teaching in 2020 as a mature aged student, although she has been at Monivae College since 2013 in a variety of roles including College Registrar.  Prior to commencing at Monivae Lia was Parish Secretary at St Mary's church in Hamilton. As a convert to Catholicism, Lia entered the Catholic Church in 2004 through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults and has continued to deepen and nurture her faith ever since. Lia and her husband have three adult children all of whom attended Monivae College and whose faith and values have been shaped by their Catholic MSC Education. 

Lia has been the Religious Education Leader at Monivae for the past three years and has also been involved in facilitating student retreats and reflection days, social justice activities and school liturgies. 

Drawing from her own faith journey, Lia believes in the importance of every student and staff member knowing God's unconditional love for them. She feels privileged to teach and serve and is committed to sharing God's love and message through the rich charism of the MSC.
