College Leadership

Sofia Vearing

Acting Deputy Principal

Sofia has a lifelong connection with Monivae College, beginning as a student from 1980 to 1986. After completing her studies at Monash University, she returned to Monivae in 1991 as a staff member and has been an integral part of the college ever since.

Sofia has served as Humanities Faculty Leader for several years, bringing extensive experience teaching History, Geography, Biology, and Science across all year levels. She has also been a committed Year 12 homeroom teacher, supporting students through a critical stage of their learning journey. While continuing to contribute to the Learning and Teaching team, Sofia has broadened her pastoral leadership as Senior School Coordinator and will temporarily step away from this role in 2026, from Term 2, to act in the Deputy Principal position.

Monivae College has had a profound impact on Sofia’s life—not only as a student and staff member but also as a parent. Both of her children flourished during their time at Monivae, and Sofia takes immense pride in being part of a community that fosters growth and success. Her enduring love for Monivae reflects her commitment to its values and mission.
